An Act to amend the Transport Act 1966

(4 April 1977

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Transport Amendment Act 1977 and shall be read together and deemed part of the Transport Act 1966 (herein referred as the 'principal Act').

2. Erection of Traffic Signs - Section 114 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection (3) the following subsection:

"(4) Proof that any traffic sign is erected on any road or that any marking provided for by this Act appears on any roadway shall, until the contrary is proved, be sufficient evidence that the sign has been duly erected or, as the case maybe, that the marking has been duly made in accordance with the provisions of this Act."

This Act is administered in the Police Department.
