AN ACT TO AMEND THE PRIVILEGES, IMMUNITIES AND POWERS OF THE MANEABA NI MAUNGATABU ACT 1986.

MADE by the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and assented to by the Beretitenti

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Privileges, Immunities and Powers of the Maneaba ni Maungatabu (Amendment) Act 2007.

2. Amendment of Schedule 3

The Privileges, Immunities and Powers of the Maneaba ni Maungatabu Act 1986 is amended by repealing Schedule 3 and substituting the following—

"SCHEDULE 3

PRECINCTS OF THE MANEABA

All the piece of land situated at Ambo, Tarawa Atoll, Kiribati Group described as LOT No 171 (Maneaba ni Maungatabu site) containing an area of land 3.736 acres and bounded by points and thence straight and curve lines, joining these points denoted as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R and to A the point of commencement.

The said area is particularly delineated and shaded green on the plan deposited in the Land Management Division as registered Plan number DGM09/06."

PRIVILEGES, IMMUNITIES AND POWERS OF THE MANEABA NI MAUNGATABU (AMENDMENT) BILL 2007

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

The amendment reflects the new location of the Maneaba ni Maungatabu at Ambo in co-ordinates. It extends from the causeway linking the islet and inclusive of all the islet where the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and the offices, the maneaba and all other structures are located but does not include the channels surrounding the islet.
