§101. Short title.
This Chapter may be cited as the "Presidential Special Consultant Act 1980". [P.L. 1980-17, §1.]
§102. Interpretation.
In this Chapter, "the Special Consultant" means the Special Consultant to the President whose office is established by Section 103 of this Chapter . [P.L. 1980-17, §2.]
§103. Establishment of the office of Special Consultant.
(1) An Office of Special Consultant to the President (policy and diplomacy) is hereby established outside the Public Service.
(2) The compensation of the Special Consultant shall be specifically prescribed by Act.
(3) Until otherwise prescribed, the salary of the Special Consultant shall be $26,500 per annum, plus allowances and other benefits (including housing) prescribed for Secretaries of Departments of the Public Service. [P.L. 1980-17, §3.]
§104. Appointment of the Special Consultant.
The Special Consultant shall be appointed by the President, with the approval of the Cabinet, for such period as the President determines. [P.L. 1980-17, §4.]
§105. Functions of the Special Consultant.
The Special Consultant has such functions as are allotted to him by the President which shall be limited to areas of policy and diplomacy. [P. L. 1980-17, §5.]
