PUBLIC HOLIDAY (AMENDMENT) ACT 2015
AN ACT
To amend Title 1, Chapter 9 of the MIRC, the Public Holiday Act of 1988, in order to declare as a public holiday, the General Election Day.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE NITIJELA OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS:
Section 1. Short title.
This Act may be cited as the Public Holiday (Amendment) Act, 2015.
Section 2. Amendment.
"Pursuant to Section 902 of the Principal Act, the Schedule appearing at the end of the Act, referred to as "Public Holidays" is hereby amended to include as public holiday, the General Election Day, which shall in accordance with the Constitution, fall on the third Monday of November of the election year."
Section 3. Effective Date.
This Act shall take effect on the date of certification in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Rules of Procedure of the Nitijela.
