Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as Adoption of Children (Amendment) Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act commences upon certification by the Speaker.

3 Act Amended

The Schedule amends the Adoption of Children Act 1965

SCHEDULE - AMENDMENT OF ADOPTION OF CHILDREN ACT 1965

[1] Amendment of section 3

Omit

Current definition of 'child'

Substitute

'child' means a person who is under the age of 18 years

[2] Repeal section 9

Section 9 is hereby repealed.
