Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Amendment) Act 2020.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on certification by the Speaker.

3 Amendment of the Criminal Justice Act 1999

The Criminal Justice Act 1999 is amended by the provisions of this Act.

4 Amendment of Section 2

Section 2 is amended by inserting the following in alphabetical order:

‘Minister’ means the Minister for Justice;

‘Secretary’ means the Secretary for Justice.
