Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act commences upon certification by the Speaker.

3 Act Amended

The Schedule amends the Criminal Procedure Act 1972.

SCHEDULE - AMENDMENT OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACT 1972

[1] Insert new section 7A

7A Sentence for habitual sexual offenders

Any person who has, on at least 2 previous occasions been convicted of any sexual offence (whether of the same description of offence or not) shall be declared a habitual sexual offenders and shall be sentenced to life imprisonment without eligibility for parole.
