AN ACT
to authorise expenditure in excess of sums appropriated from the Niue Assembly Account and to authorise certain excess capital expenditure for the financial year ended 30th June 1997.
BE IT ENACTED by the Niue Assembly in Session and by the authority of the same as follows:
1. Short Title and Application - (1) This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Validation of Unappropriated Expenditure) Act 1997.
(2) This Act shall apply in respect of the financial year ending on the 30th June 1997.
2. Recurrent expenditure authorised - Whereas the Cabinet of Ministers has approved recurrent expenditure during the year ended 30th June 1997 on items specified in the First Schedule to this Act amounting in total to $14,207,290, it is declared that the excess expenditure on the items in the First Schedule hereof amounting to $756,363 (which expenditure has not previously been appropriated by an Appropriation Act) is hereby authorised, and deemed to have always been authorised by the authority of the Niue Assembly.
