ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.
INDEPENDENT STATE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA.
AN ACT
entitled
National Seal Act 1975,
Being an Act to implement in part Section 3 (national symbols) of the Constitution by providing for a National Seal.
(1) There shall be a National Seal of Papua New Guinea.
(2) The National Seal–
(a) shall be kept and used by or as directed by the Head of State who in doing so shall act with, and in accordance with, the advice of the National Executive Council; and
(b) shall be used for sealing all things that must be or customarily are done under a Great or Public Seal; and
(c) may be used for evidencing any act or decision of the National Executive.
All courts and persons acting judicially shall take judicial notice of the impression of the National Seal, and shall presume that it was properly impressed.
The National Seal shall–
(a) be circular in shape; and
(b) contain a stylized version of the National Emblem in the centre and the words “National Seal of Papua New Guinea” around the circumference.
This Act does not prevent the use by the Head of State, the National Executive Council or any State department, agency or instrumentality of any seal or stamp other than the National Seal, or of a facsimile of the National Seal.
