ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.
Papua New Guinea Sports Commission (Charges and Penalties) By-Law 1999
MADE by the Papua New Guinea Sports Commission under the Papua New Guinea Sports Commission Act 1992.
In this By-Law, “sports complex” means any sports complex managed by the Commission or under the control of the Commission.
The annual rental for any office accommodation within a sports complex is not less than K200.00 per square metre (not including electricity charges) and not more than K300.00 per square metre (not including electricity charges).
The rentals for the hire of facilities within a complex are as follows:–

The parking fees for parking of vehicles in an approved car park at a sporting complex are as follows:–
A | Non sporting events | K2.00 per day |
B | Sporting events | K1.00 per day |
C | Tenants and their cars | Free |
(1) The penalty for parking a vehicle on an area within a sports complex other than an approved area is K10.00.
(2) The Commission may remove, or cause to be removed, a vehicle parked on an area within a sports complex other than an approved area.
(3) The owner of a vehicle removed under Subsection (2) is responsible for payment to the Commission of the cost of removal.
(4) The Commission is not responsible for any damage to a vehicle–
(a) while it is parked on a sports complex; or
(b) in the course of its removal under Subsection (2).
Notwithstanding the rental charges fixed by Sections 2, 3 and 4 the Commission may–
(a) negotiate daily, weekly and seasonal rates of rental charges; and
(b) grant a discount of 25% of rental charges to educational institutions approved by the Commission; and
(c) where the rental is for a period exceeding one year, review the rental after consultation with the tenant or hirer, as the case may be.
The rental charges specified in this By-Law do not include–
(a) sales and services taxes imposed by or under a Provincial or National Capital District Commission law; or
(b) value added tax imposed by or under the Value Added Tax Act 1998.
