INDEPENDENT STATE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA.

AN ACT

entitled

Standard Time Act 1951,

Being an Act to establish a standard of time in the country.

1. STANDARD TIME.

The mean time of the meridian 150° E is the standard time throughout the country.

2. REFERENCES TO TIME.

Where–

(a) an expression of time occurs in any law, or in any instrument; or

(b) the doing or not doing of anything at a certain time of day or night, or during a certain part of the day or the night, has an effect in law,

the reference to that time shall, unless it is otherwise specifically stated, be deemed to be to the standard time throughout the country as declared by this Act.
