Trade Licensing Regulation 1974
ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.
Trade Licensing Regulation 1974
MADE under the Trade Licensing Act 1969.
Dated 200 .
For the purposes of the Act, the prescribed trades are the trades specified in Column 2 of Schedule 2.
Trade Licensing Boards of the designations specified in Column 1 of Schedule 2 are hereby established for each of the trades respectively specified in Column 2 of that Schedule.
A Register shall be in Form 1.
An application for the issue of a licence or provisional licence in a prescribed trade shall be in Form 2.
(1) A licence shall be in Form 3.
(2) A provisional licence shall be in Form 4.
[1](1)[2] [3]The annual licence fee for the grant of registration as a licensed tradesman in the trade of –
(a) sanitary plumbing and draining –
(i) on the issue of a Class 1 or 2 licence K50.00
(ii) on the renewal of a Class 1 or 2 licence K50.00
(b) gas fitting –
(i) on the issue of a licence K50.00
(ii) on the renewal of a licence K25.00
(c) welding –
(i) on the issue of a Class 1 licence K50.00
(ii) on the renewal of a Class 1 licence K25.00
(iii) on the issue of a Class 2 licence K60.00
(iv) on the renewal of a Class 2 licence K30.00
(d) steam boiler attending –
(i) on the issue of a Class 1 or 2 licence K100.00
(ii) on the renewal of a Class 1 or 2 licence K50.00
(2)[4] [5]Where the application for renewal is not received by the appropriate Board within one month after the expiration of the licence, K1000.00.
(3)[6] [7]The fee for a provisional licence is K50.00.
Where a licence has been lost, defaced or destroyed, the Registrar may, if he is satisfied that no misuse has been made of the licence and on payment by the holder of the licence of the sum of 50t, issue to him a substitute licence.
For the purposes of Section 40 of the Act, the prescribed scale of witnesses’ fees and allowances is as specified in Schedule 3.
[8]A fee in respect of an applicant undergoing –
(a) plumbing and/or drainer examination is, K100.00; and
(b) a gas fitters examination is, K100.00; and
(c) welders licence examination is, K100.00; and
(d) boiler attendants licence examination –
(i) for Class 1 examination K100.00; and
(ii) for Class 2 examination K120.00; and
(e) doggers and riggers test –
(i) for Class 1 test – K50.00; and
(ii) for Class 2 test – K60.00.

SCHEDULE 3 – WITNESSES’ FEES AND ALLOWANCES.

For Travelling.
K.
1. To every witness who travels by ship, air or vehicle, the amount actually and properly paid for fares both in going to and returning from the place at which the Board he may be required to attend is sitting
or
2. Mileage for each mile necessarily travelled (over the first three miles) to be allowed for one way only, a sum not exceeding per mile 0.40
For Attendance.
3. A sum representing the amount of salary, wages or income actually lost, and accommodation expenses, but not to exceed per day 21.00
