2. Repeal.

AN ACT

entitled

Electricity Industry (Amendment) Act 2021.

Being an Act to amend the Electricity Industry Act 2002, and for related purposes,

MADE by the National Parliament to come into operation in accordance with a notice in the National Gazette by the Head of State, acting with, and in accordance with the advice of the Minister.

1. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1).

Section 1 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting the following new definitions in their correct alphabetical order:

"Economic Regulator" means the National Energy Authority designated by the National Energy Authority Act 2021 to perform the electricity industry economic regulator functions;
"economic regulatory function" means the functions of the economic aspects of industry regulation, including tariff and other functions of the National Energy Authority as governed under the National Energy Authority Act 2021;
"regulator" means the National Energy Authority designated by the National Energy Authority Act 2021 to perform economic regulatory functions relating to the electricity industry;".

2. REPEAL.

Sections 24A, 25 to 27 inclusive, 31A to 43C inclusive and 47 to 60 inclusive are repealed.
