ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.

1. Log Export Development Levy (Amendment of Section 121A).
2. New Section 121AB.

"121AB. SAVING AND TRANSITIONAL.".

An Act

entitled

Forestry (2013 Budget) (Amendment) Act 2012,

Being an Act to amend the Forestry Act 1991,

MADE by the National Parliament to have come into operation on 1 January 2013.

1. LOG EXPORT DEVELOPMENT LEVY (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 121A).

Section 121A of the Principal Act is then amended in Subsection (3) by repealing the words "Commissioner General" and substituting with the following:

"Commissioner of the Papua New Guinea Customs Service".

2. NEW SECTION 121AB.

The Principal Act is amended by inserting after Section 12IA the following new section:

"121AB. SAVINGS AND TRANSITIONAL.

(1) Where, immediately before the coming into operation of this amendment, any action done by the Commissioner General in terms of transfers pursuant to the trust instruments established for the purposes of the log development levy established under Section 121A, that action does not, on the coming into operation, abate or discontinue, and is not in any way affected by the amendment in Section 1 to invalidate the transfers.

(2) Despite Subsection (1), the Commissioner of the Papua New Guinea Customs Services is responsible for the administration, accounting and reporting of the trust accounts from the financial years 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2012.".
