An Act

entitled

National Information and Communication Technology (Amendment) Act 2016,

Being a law to amend the National Information and Communication Technology Act 2009, and for related purposes,

MADE by the National Parliament to come into operation in accordance with a notice in the National Gazette by the Head of State, acting with, and in accordance with, the advice of the Minister.

(1) REPEAL OF SECTION 266.

Section 266 of the Principal Act is repealed.

(2) REPEAL OF SECTION 267.

Section 267 of the Principal Act is repealed.

(3) REPEAL AND REPLACEMENT OF SECTION 271.

Section 271 of the Principal Act is repealed and replaced with the following new section:

"271. PROSECUTION OF OFFENCES.
With respect to offences created by this Act or any mandatory instrument, the Police may, in consultation with the Public Prosecutor and NICTA, carry out the prosecutions."
