AN ACT

entitled

Oil and Gas (Amendment) Act 2015,

Being an Act to amend the Oil and Gas Act 1998,

MADE by the National Parliament.

1. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 3).

Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the definition of “offshore area” and replacing it with the following new definition:

““offshore area” means the area that comprises the seabed underlying any of the waters of Papua New Guinea, other than internal waters;”.

2. REPEAL OF SECTION 4.

Section 4 of the Principal Act is repealed.

3. REGULATIONS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 182).

Section 182 of the Principal Act is amended by adding after Subsection (2), the following new subsection:

“(3) Regulations made under this section apply to activities and operations in the waters of Papua New Guinea as they apply on land, to the extent possible.”.
