AN ACT
entitled
Public Health (Amendment) Act 1998,
Being an Act to amend the Public Health Act (Chapter 226),
MADE by the National Parliament to come into operation in accordance with a notice in the National Gazette by the Head of State, acting with, and in accordance with, the advice of the Minister.
Section 1 of the Principal Act is amended by repealing the definition of "Local Medical Authority" and replacing it with the following:
"'Local Medical Authority' means a Local Medical Authority appointed under the National Health Administration Act 1997;".
Section 4 of the Principal Act is repealed.
Section 5 of the Principal Act is repealed.
Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended -
(a) in line 1, by inserting before the words "the Minister" the symbols and figure "(1)"; and
(b) by adding the following new Subsection:-
- "(2) An Assistant Local Medical Authority appointed under Subsection (i) -
- (a) is answerable to, and subject to the directions of, the Local Medical Authority; and
- (b) has such powers and functions as are delegated to him under this Act by the Local Medical Authority.".
