"3A. ESTABLISHMENT OF DATABASE IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT."

3. First Legislative Counsel may give certain directions (Amendment of Section 4).

AN ACT

entitled

Printing of the Laws (Amendment) Act 2000,

Being an Act to amend the Printing of the Laws Act (Chapter 333),

MADE by the National Parliament.

1. AMENDMENT OF LONG TITLE.

The long title to the Act is amended by adding the following:-

"and to their establishment in a database in electronic format."

2. NEW SECTION 3A.

The Principal Act is amended by inserting after Section 3 the following new section:-

"3A. ESTABLISHMENT OF DATABASE IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT.
(1) The Minister may, by notice in the National Gazette, authorize a person to establish a database in electronic format of the laws of Papua New Guinea.
"(2) The database shall be under the control of the First Legislative Counsel. ".

3. FIRST LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL MAY GIVE CERTAIN DIRECTIONS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 4).

Section 4(1) of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after the words "print or reprint any law the following":-

"or an authorized person to include the laws in the database".
