ARRANGEMENT OF SECTION.

Application (Amendment of Section 2).

Being an Act to amend the Search Act 1977,

MADE by the National Parliament.

APPLICATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 2).

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended –

(a) by repealing Subsection (1) and replacing it with the following new subsection:

"(1) Subject to Subsections (2), (3) and (4), this Act applies, notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, to and in relation to any search whether by or under this Act or any other law."; and

(b) by adding the following new subsection immediately after Subsection (3):

"(4) This Act does not apply to searches authorised under the Migration Act (Chapter 16)."
