ARRANGEMENT OF SECTION.

Amendment of Schedule 1 (Rates of Duty).

AN ACT

entitled

Stamp Duties (Amendment) Act 1994,

Being an Act to amend the Stamp Duties Act (Chapter 117),

MADE by the National Parliament to be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 1994.

AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULE 1 (RATES OF DUTY).

(1) Item 1 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended by inserting after Paragraph (4) the following new paragraph:-

"(5) Instruments used only for liquidity management purposes between commercial banks licensed under the Banks and Financial Institution Act (Chapter 137), or liquidity management purposes between commercial banks and the Bank of Papua New Guinea through the Discount Facility operated by the Bank of Papua New Guinea.".

(2) Item 2 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended by inserting after Paragraph (12) the following new paragraph:-

"(13) Instruments used only for liquidity management purposes between commercial banks licensed under the Banks and Financial Institutions Act (Chapter 137), or liquidity management purposes between commercial banks and the Bank of Papua New Guinea through the Discount Facility operated by the Bank of Papua New Guinea.".
