TOKELAU COMMEMORATIVE COINS RULES 2011
These are the Commemorative Coins Rules 2011.
(1) The coins describes in Schedule 1 shall be minted and issued in accordance with arrangements made for the purpose by the Council for the Ongoing Government.
(2) The coins are commemorative coins and legal tender in Tokelau.
(1) Commemorative coins made pursuant to these rules shall not be legal tender until –
(i) Public notification in the form in Schedule 2; and
(ii) A copy of that notice is deposited in the office of the Administrator of Tokelau.
Coins made under these rules shall have –
(i) For the obverse impression, the national symbol of Tokelau, or the national flag of Tokelau, the IRB Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the words "ELIZABETH II – TOKELAU" and the year of issue, together with the monetary value. A border pattern symbolising Tokelauan basket weaving may be incorporated around the border of the coin, and variations as approved by Her Majesty.
(ii) For the reverse impression, the designs as approved in writing by the Council for the Ongoing Government.
(1) Coins issued under these rules shall comply with the specifications listed in the form in Schedule 1.
(2) A coin that does not comply with the specifications listed for it will not be legal tender.
