BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER TO TONGA

9 of 1970AN ACT TO AMEND THE TITLE OF THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT IN TONGA; TO EXTEND IMMUNITIES AND PRIVILEGES ENJOYED BY THAT REPRESENTATIVE TO HIS STAFF; AND FOR PURPOSES CONNECTED THEREWITH

This Act may be cited as the British High Commissioner to Tonga Act.
In all Acts, Ordinances, rules, orders, notices and other official Government writing, references to the British Agent and Consul and British Commissioner and Consul in Tonga shall be construed as references to the British High Commissioner to Tonga or to the person for the time being performing his functions in Tonga.
(1) Immunities and privileges enjoyed in the Kingdom by the British High Commissioner to Tonga shall likewise be enjoyed to such extent by such members of his staff as shall by Order in Council be published in the Gazette.
(2) The power to make an Order conferred by this Act includes power to vary or revoke that Order by a subsequent Order.
