AN ACT

TO REPEAL THE CARRIAGE OF GOODS BY SEA ACT (Cap. 141)

[8th September, 2008]

BE IT ENACTED by the King and the Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the Carriage of Goods by Sea (Repeal) Act 2008.

2. The Carriage of Goods by Sea Act (Cap. 141), is hereby repealed.

3. The Carriage of Goods by Sea Act (Cap. 141), as in force immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall continue to apply to a contract of carriage by sea if –

(a) the contract was made before the commencement of this Act; and
(b) that Act would have applied but for the operation of section
