DOCK REGULATION (AMENDMENT) ACT 1992

AN ACT TO AMEND THE DOCK REGULATION ACT

I assent,

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Dock Regulation (Amendment) Act 1992,

(2) The Dock Regulation Act (Cap, 140), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2. Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after the definition of "lifting machinery" the following:

"Minister" means the Minister responsible for the Ports Administration Department."

3. Sections 2 and 26 of the Principal Act are amended by deleting the word "Prime".

4. The Principal Act is amended by deleting the words "Controller of Customs" wherever they appear and substituting the word "Minister".

5. Section 58 of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the words "$100, and in default of payment to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months" and by substituting therefor the figure "$1000".

Passed in the Legislative Assembly this 21st day of October, 1992.
