AN ACT TO AMEND THE TRAFFIC ACT

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. Short Title

(1) This Act may be cited as the Traffic (Amendment) Act 2021 .

(2) In this Act, the Traffic Act, as amended, shall be referred to as "the Principal Act".

2. Section 39 amended

Section 39(5) of the Principal Act is amended by deleting "$500" and replacing it with "$200."

3. Section 54 amended

Section 54(6) of the Principal Act is amended, by deleting "500" the fixed penalty for the offence of Failure to wear adult seatbelts under section 39 and replacing it with "200".

4. The Schedule amended

Form 4 in the Schedule of the Principal Act is amended, by deleting "500" the fixed penalty for the offence of Failure to wear adult seatbelts under section 39, and replacing it with "200".
