LIQUOR LICENSING REGULATIONS

To prescribe standards for licensed premises.
1. Interpretation
In these regulations, "Act" means the Liquor Licensing Act, Cap. 52.
2. Standards for licensed premises
All premises licensed for the sale of liquor under sections 5, 6 and 7 of the Act shall −
(a) be provided with a lavatory suitable for the use of both men and women:
Provided that all premises licensed under section 7 of the Act shall be provided with separate lavatories for men and women;
(b) be provided with a supply of drinkable water for the washing of glasses or other receptacles used for the consumption of liquor;
(c) be provided with adequate ventilation in the public bar.
3. Glasses not to be cracked or chipped
No glass or other receptacle used on such premises shall be cracked or chipped.
4. Liquor to be stored under lock and key
All such premises shall be provided with a secure store where stocks of liquor may be kept under lock and key during hours when the premises are not open.
5. Enforcement of regulations
(1) For the purposes of ensuring compliance with the provisions of regulation 4 any District Commissioner or any member of the police force may enter any licensed premises.
(2) For the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulations 2 and 3 any medical officer or sanitary inspector may enter any such premises.
(3) Any person who obstructs any District Commissioner, any member of the police force, any medical officer or any sanitary inspector in or upon the occasion of the execution of his duty shall be guilty of an offence and on conviction thereof shall be liable to a fine not exceeding VT 25,000.
6. Offences and penalties
Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of regulations 2, 3 and 4 of these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and on conviction shall be liable to the penalties provided for in sections 21 and 23 of the Act.
