ROAD TRAFFIC (LEARNER DRIVER’S LICENCE)

Order 20 of 1989
Order 29 of 2000

To make provision concerning the application for and grant of Learner Driver’s Licences and for connected purposes.

1. Form of application for a Learner Driver’s Licence
An application for a Learner Driver’s Licence shall be made to the licensing authority in the form set out in Schedule 1 of this Order.

2. Form of Learner Driver’s Licence
A Learner Driver’s Licence shall be in the form as set out in Schedule 2 of this Order.

3. Fee for Learner Driver’s Licence
(1) (Repealed)

(2) Learner Driver’s Licences shall be granted by the licensing authority upon payment of the fee prescribed.

This licence is subject to the following conditions:

that the holder of the licence shall observe the provisions of the Road Traffic (Control) Act [CAP. 29], as amended, and of any Orders made thereunder;
that the holder of the licence shall not carry any passengers other than the person instructing him;
that the holder of the licence shall display at the front and rear of the vehicle a plate containing the letter ‘L’ in red on a white background which letter shall be not less than 12 centimetres high.
