An Act to amend the Meat Industry Act No. 5 of 1991.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1 OF ACT NO. 5 1990

1. Section 1 of the Meat Industry Act No. 5 of 1991, in this Act referred to as the 'principal Act' is amended in the definition of "butchery" by inserting the words 'or poultry meat' after the word 'meat' and before the word 'is' in the fourth line of the definition.

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 12 OF THE PRINCIPAL ACT

2. Section 12 of the principal Act is amended -

(a) in the heading by deleting the words "AND GRADING"; and

(b) in subsection (1) by deleting the words "or grading".

COMMENCEMENT

3. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
