An Act to amend the Representative Assembly (Members' Expenses and Allowances) Regulation No. 12 of 1980.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF JR No. 12 OF 1980

1. The Representative Assembly (Members' Expenses and Allowances) Regulation No. 12 of 1980, as amended, is further amended by repealing section 8A and substituting the following section:-

"Gratuity

8A. A person who, after the commencement of this Act, ceases to be a Member of Parliament shall be entitled to receive a gratuity at the rate of the monthly allowance specified in section 3, multiplied by three (3), for each year during which he was a Member of the Parliament and pro-rata for each uncompleted year."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
