THE ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT

To amend the Road Traffic Act [CAP. 29]

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 33 OF CHAPTER 29

1. Section 33 of the Road Traffic Act [CAP. 29] is amended -

(a) in subsection (3) by deleting the words "by the Minister by Order" and substituting the words "at the rate specified in subsection (4),";

(b) by adding the following subsection after subsection (3) -

"(4) The registration fee payable under subsection (3) shall be 1% of the retail purchase price in the case of new vehicles and 1% of the declared fair market value in the case of second hand vehicles directly imported by individuals for personal use."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
